By George Brawerman
I consider photography as a creative process. whose object is to render a personal view of a particular scene. The photographer may be impressed by a certain mood or by interesting details of what is around him or her. Appropriate framing of the scene through the viewfinder may enhance this initial impression, and offers the possibility of cropping out unnecessary and distracting elements. Thus the camera can record a highly personal view of the scene. The overall mood and important details of the scene can be markedly affected during developing and printing. In order to have full control of these important aspects of the creation of a picture, I work with digital images. Digital processing of the image provides me with effective control of various parameters involved in the printing process. It allows me to recreate the scene as I remember it when I took the picture. Prints can be purchased in a variety of sizes. Please contact me for details |

FLORIDA REVISITED, 2007
Florida offers an inexhaustible supply of sights worthy of being captured on film. These recent pictures were captured both by Ruth, my wife, and myself.

IMPRESSIONS FROM FAR AWAY PLACES
An exhibit of images captured during recent travels. Living in the Boston area, our immediate environment abounds in interesting photographic subjects. In the past I have focused mostly on its natural beauty, and more recenty on the grace of Boston's urban setting. However, far away places offer unique opportunities to the photographer. Some of the pictures were taken by my wife, Ruth.

PHOTO IMPRESSIONS, A JANUARY 2006 EXHIBIT
An exhibit of Recent Photographs on Display at the Wayland Public Library, in Massachusetts This exhibit features my recent work. In many of the pictures, color and shape takes precedence over subject matter. I try to emphasize the impressions imparted by the scenes, using cropping and limited digfital manipulation. Aspects of some pictures are made deliberatly fuzzy, to create a painterly effect. Two pictures made by Ruth, my wife, are included.
